After the parliament of the Netherlands removed all obstacles in the way to Bulgaria’s full entry into the Schengen area definitively, Prime Minister Nikolai Denkov commented that the Netherlands’ decision places Bulgaria in a better position in the negotiations with Austria.
The negotiations with the last country standing in Bulgaria’ way to Schengen continue and “will be concluded in a way that will take into account Austria’s concerns because it has a serious problem with migration,” PM Denkov commented.
“I believe that very soon, in the coming days, there should be a decision on Bulgaria’s membership of Schengen,” said Minister of the Interior Kalin Stoyanov, as quoted by BNR’s Daniel Inkov.
