Lending loans to households may be tightened following an analysis of data for the first quarter of this year. This was stated by the Governor of the Bulgarian National Bank, Dimitar Radev, in an interview for the BNR. According to him, such measures will be approached very carefully. The idea is being considered against the backdrop of growth in mortgage lending and household indebtedness.

Radev also pointed out that the adopted plan for the adoption of the euro was prepared based on a target date of January 1, 2025. When asked about a possible change of this date, he answered: "I don't think it is very productive to focus on the date now. Rather, the focus should be on what needs to be done."

He specified that this decision depends not only on Bulgaria, but also on its partners, with whom the issues of our membership in the Eurozone are discussed.
