Minister of Finance Assen Vassilev has met with the US Deputy Secretary of the Treasury, Wally Adeyemo, in Washington. The two have discussed topics from the economic agenda of Europe and the United States and the possibilities for cooperation and support. The meeting was also attended by Deputy Assistant Secretary for Global Affairs, Anna Morris, and Brian McCauley, Deputy Assistant Secretary for Europe and Eurasia.
Minister Vassilev also discussed the possibilities of reducing the dependence on Russian gas and oil in the Balkans and the need to find a strategic buyer for the Lukoil Burgas refinery with Amos Hochstein, Deputy Assistant to the President and Senior Adviser for Energy.
