One of the most emotional Bulgarian songs “Tell me, little cloud of white” (Oblache le byalo) is part of a feature film in New Zealand. It is performed by folk singer Ana-Maria who has been singing since she was 5, and whose talent has taken her to some incredible places around the world – Japan, Brazil, Cuba, Portugal, Spain, France, Switzerland, Finland, Greece, Russia, Hungary, Romania, Germany, Italy, Belgium the UK, the Netherlands.
Ana-Maria has been soloist of The Mystery of the Bulgarian Voices, and of the ensembles Philip Koutev, Trakia etc.
The singer says that performing the song is always very emotional for her, because her son has been living abroad for years.
The video to the song was shot near a house in the Sofia suburb of Pancharevo, where Irish journalist James Bourchier is thought to have stayed during his travels to Bulgaria as Balkan correspondent for different British newspapers.
