The capital's mayor Vasil Terziev said that he had allowed the Russian embassy to mark the Defender of the Fatherland Day on February 23. Russian ambassador Eleonora Mitrofanova requested permission from the mayor of Sofia through a special letter sent to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, which was also forwarded to the mayor's office, BGNES reports.
