“If they want 50/50 in the regulatory bodies, our next response will be that there should be 50/50 distribution in the ministries as well,” GERB leader Boyko Borissov said in answer to GERB’s “non-coalition” partner We Continue the Change/Democratic Bulgaria (PP/DB) with regard to the memorandum of governance for the next 9 months, proposed by PP/DB. One of the texts from the memorandum concerns the distribution of nominations for the regulatory bodies.

In Boyko Borissov’s words, trust in the two political forces which are to carry out the rotation of prime ministers, has dropped down to ice age levels. “There is communication of sorts between us, but you have to be careful about what every word means, and at this time I am not an optimist,” Borissov told reporters.

Boyko Borissov went on to criticize the government on another point – the country’s commitment to deliver military aid to Ukraine. “Let me give you an example – at this point, nothing from what the MPs, our supporters and our members, and for which we are getting attacked by our opponents for having given Ukraine weapons – but those weapons are still in Bulgaria,” he said.
