The co-chairman of the Movement for Rights and Freedoms, Delyan Peevski, sent a letter to the chief prosecutor, the Ministry of Interior and the State Agency for National Security, calling for an immediate investigation into the shortage of insulin in the country, the press center of the party announced. The reason was the lack of life-sustaining medications in the pharmacy network, which patient organizations alarmed about.

"With its attitude, the authorities are creating a life-threatening situation for thousands of Bulgarian citizens, including many children," the MP said. He calls on those in power to stop the shameful partitioning of power and start listening to the people and focus on solving their problems.

By order of the Minister of Health Hristo Hinkov, the export of insulin, insulin analogues and other blood sugar lowering drugs was banned until the end of February this year.
