Caretaker Prime Minister Dimitar Glavchev has proposed that Kiril Vatev be dismissed as Minister of Agriculture and Food and that Georgi Tahov be appointed in his place, the Council of Ministers' press service said. In his proposal to President Rumen Radev, Glavchev said that the reason for the change was the minister's failure to carry out his duties, which had led to continuing tension and discontent in the agricultural sector.

Vatev was one of four ministers from the regular PP-DB and GERB-SDS government who kept their posts in the caretaker cabinet appointed on April 9. He justified his decision by saying that he wanted to finish the work he had started.

A day ago, the caretaker prime minister also proposed the replacement of the caretaker foreign minister.
