Today, President Rumen Radev will hand over the first government-forming mandate to the candidate for Prime Minister nominated by the largest parliamentary group, GERB-SDS.

Last week, Bulgaria’s head of state held consultations with the political forces represented in the National Assembly to hear their visions for a potential cabinet. Following these consultations, the expectation is that we are heading towards another snap election rather than a regular government.

Former National Assembly speaker Rosen Zhelyazkov will probably receive the government-forming mandate, GERB-SDS MP Luben Dilov assumed.
