The National Museum of Literature celebrates 174 years since the birth of Ivan Vazov. The celebration also marks the round anniversary of the first independent Bulgarian edition of the novel "Under the Yoke", published in 1894 by the publishing house "T.F.Chipev'', the National Museum of Literature said on its website. The first novel in young Bulgarian literature remains the most popular work of Ivan Vazov, bringing him literary fame not only in Bulgaria but also worldwide.

On the occasion of Ivan Vazov's birth anniversary on July 9, entry to the Ivan Vazov House Museum in Sofia will be free. A tribute will be paid at the poet's monument in Sofia at 11 am, the organizers said.
