											Located in the Northwestern portion of  Mount Rila in the valley of the River Malyovitsa, the mountain hut called  Malyovitsa is among the most popular huts for hikers in Bulgaria. There they can take a breather, have  something to eat, and use it as a starting point for climbing a number of  mountain peaks – Malyovitsa, Elenin Peak, Orlovets etc.
The first stone of the mountain hut, rising at an  altitude of 1,960 m., was laid in 1934 by tourists from Pernik, from the  tourist society Golo Burdo, 360mag.bg reports. Having been built in 2-3 months, the hut was  officially opened on 2 September, 1934, the ceremony being attended by more  than 500 tourists. However, the building subsequently proved to be too small to  accommodate the multitude of tourists coming here, so it was extended and an  additional storey was added.
