Growth of Scandinavian tourists to Bulgaria's northern Black Sea coast

Nearly 9% more tourists from Norway and other Scandinavian countries visited Bulgaria than in 2023, according to data from Varna Airport. Turkey, Austria, Belgium, the Czech Republic and the Netherlands, which are among the airport's top 10 markets, also recorded increases.

In terms of annual traffic, a slight decrease is expected compared to last year. The reason for this is the capacity problem of most of the airlines operating direct flights to and from Varna Airport. The decrease mainly affects the German market.

On the positive side, this year has seen the opening of new destinations - for example, flights from Paris to Varna - as well as the resumption of suspended services.
