Bulgarian writer Georgi Gospodinov to be awarded the French Order of Art and Literature

Bulgarian writer Georgi Gospodinov will receive the Order of Art and Letters - Knight degree, at a ceremony this evening at the residence of the French ambassador in Sofia. In this way, the country pays tribute to an outstanding author and European humanist, whose remarkable works in translation won many readers in France, the French Embassy pointed out.
The honorary award will be presented by Ambassador of France Joël Meyer on behalf of the French Minister of Culture Rachida Dati.

The Bulgarian writer, winner of the international Booker prize for the novel Time Shelter, is awarded the order by a decree of the Minister of Culture of France.
