Throughout the day the public will be given a guided tour of the ancient Abrittus and a lecture about the life of the Romans who once lived in the town. Abrittus, originated in the 1st century as a Roman military camp, after which it evolved into one of the province’s major cities. Its fortress walls are 1,400 m. long in total, 2.10 - 3 m. thick and, together with the battlements - 12 m. high. After it was built, Abrittus evolved as an important military, administrative, political and religious hub.
