Today is the day of Veterinary Medical Specialists in Bulgaria

14 December is the Day of Veterinary Medical Specialists in Bulgaria. The foundations of veterinary medicine in this country were laid after Bulgaria's liberation in 1878.

The first veterinary bacteriological station in the country was established in 1901, and the Veterinary-Medical Faculty at the St. Kliment Ohridski University in Sofia – in 1923. Since 1924 veterinary services in the country have been state-run.
