The Constitutional Court has admitted for consideration the issue of the admissibility of the amendments to the Constitution introduced at the end of 2023. The Court will again discuss whether the changes related to the procedure for appointing an acting prime minister (according to which the president can appoint a prime minister from a very limited circle of people), for a National Assembly operating even under an acting cabinet, and the possibility for people with dual citizenship to run for MPs, contradict the basic law.

The requests for reconsideration of the amendments were submitted by President Rumen Radev and the MPs from ITN.
