Industry workers in demand, no applicants for jobs in hospitals and social services

There are nearly 17,600 job vacancies in the country by the end of the third quarter of 2024, according to the National Statistical Institute. This is almost 1,000 fewer than at the end of the second quarter. 

The Employment Agency reported that among the most sought-after professional staff are social care workers, machine operators, salespeople and skilled workers for various industries. 

The largest number of vacancies is in the manufacturing industry – 2,600, followed by healthcare and social work – over 2,400. The fewest vacancies are in real estate operations – 70 and in the extractive industry – 137. 

The number of occupied jobs is 2,270,000. 

The largest number is in the manufacturing industry – over 430,000 and the smallest in the extractive industry – under 18,000. The number of occupied jobs at the end of the third quarter is over 20,000 fewer than in the second.
