On the occasion of World Health Day (April 7), Bulgaria’s Premier Rosen Zhelyazkov expressed his deep appreciation and respect for doctors and healthcare workers in Bulgaria, BTA reported. “You are the people who, every day, with professionalism and heart, take care of the life and health of every Bulgarian citizen. Your dedication, strength and humanity are priceless”, noted Premier Zhelyzakov, quoted in a post on the Council of Ministers' Facebook page. In Rosen Zhelyazkov’s words, healthcare is the backbone of a prosperous society and therefore the government is committed to modernizing the system, improving working conditions and ensuring access to high-quality medical care for everyone. Among the priorities are the construction of a National Multi-Profile Hospital for Active Treatment of Children and the establishment of a National Proton Therapy Center.

''You are the ones who inspire hope, who save lives and offer comfort in the most difficult moments. I deeply thank you for your work, for your sleepless nights, for the humanity and empathy with which you care for people every day'', added Premier Zhelyazkov.

Bulgaria's Minister of Health Silvi Kirilov also thanked the medical professionals for the tireless energy they put into their profession. The congratulations were posted on the Ministry of Health's official Facebook page, reported BTA. In his address, Minister Kirilov assured that he highly values the efforts of each of them and expressed his readiness for constructive dialogue that would lead to positive changes, benefiting both patients and those working in the healthcare sector.
