At the moment, there is no immediate threat to Bulgaria, against the backdrop of the growing military conflict between Israel and Iran. The Bulgarian government expresses concern about the growing tension in the region and the potential risks to international peace and security. A statement from the government press center states that preserving international legal order and arms control mechanisms are of utmost importance.

In response to the US attacks on Iranian nuclear facilities on June 22, Bulgarian institutions called for a reduction in tension and dialogue.

In a statement released by the presidential press office, the Bulgarian Head of State Rumen Radev points out that the escalation of military actions in the Middle East is extremely worrying. "We expect the permanent members of the UN Security Council to find a path to constructive dialogue that would prevent the danger of a global catastrophe," said President Radev.

A similar position was expressed by the Speaker of the National Assembly, Natalia Kiselova, who stressed that the efforts of the international community should be directed towards negotiations and the cessation of hostilities.

The Bulgarian Ministry of Foreign Affairs also called for diplomatic efforts to avoid aggravation of the situation in the region. Referring to the recommendations of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) and the agreements within the framework of the regime for the non-proliferation of weapons of mass destruction, the Bulgarian Ministry of Foreign Affairs emphasizes that Iran should not be allowed to develop a nuclear program for military purposes.
