Hristo Tsvetkov won the Vitosha 100 km ultra-marathon and mountain-biking race for the fifth consecutive time, improving his own record. According to the Bulgarian News Agency BTA, he finished the 100-kilometre course in 6:56:40, which is 42 minutes faster than his previous record.

This is the first time in the race's 42-year history that the winner has finished in under seven hours. In 2022, he became the first person to finish in under eight hours. In 2021, he gained popularity when he proposed to his girlfriend immediately after crossing the finish line, having won with a time of 08:07:23.

Nearly 3,000 participants (runners and cyclists) took part in this year's iconic race, which is once again part of the 'Sofia – European Capital of Sport' initiative this summer. The race began in the 1970s with the '100 kilometres in 24 hours' event, which was the original name of the Tour. With each passing year, the time taken to complete the route has decreased.
