Pan Publishing House is presenting the exhibition “80 Years of Pippi Longstocking”, featuring the covers of all Bulgarian editions of the red-haired Pippilotta Delicatessa Windowshade Mackrelmint Ephraim's Daughter Longstocking. The event will take place at the Open Air Gallery in the City Garden of Sofia from today until August 14, reported BTA.
Astrid Lindgren wrote three novels about her famous character, the first of which was published in 1945. In 1968, a book titled ''Pippi Longstocking'' was released in Bulgarian, including 24 out of a total of 32 chapters. As a result, about one-third of the stories remained unknown in Bulgaria until 2011, when the publishing house commissioned Vera Gancheva to translate the missing texts.
Fourteen years later, the books about Pippi Longstocking continue to be beloved by Bulgarian children.
