Presidential Administration will not use cars of the National Service for Protection

The cars of the National Service for Protection will no longer be at the disposal of the administration of the presidential institution, the MPs have decided, BNR reporter Daniel Inkov informed. This does not apply to the cars used by the head of state, his wife and the vice president.

The reason for the change in the law was a visit by President Rumen Radev to Varna, during which the city was blocked because of his motorcade of seven cars, said submitter Kalin Stoyanov from “DPS – New Beginning”.

A dispute in the plenary hall was caused by the question of whether the NSP should guard members of parliament and, more specifically, the leader of “DPS – New Beginning” Delyan Peevski. “We proposed that there should be no MPs using the NSP. Why does half of the services and the Ministry of Interior have to deal with Peevski and close boulevards when he passes by, and why is it not said how much this costs the state every month,” said Ivaylo Mirchev from “We Continue the Change – Democratic Bulgaria”.
