New business club works to promote Bulgarian entrepreneurs in Berlin

Under the name BGBizHub, Bulgarian entrepreneurs in Berlin have joined forces to promote and develop their businesses in Germany. "Like any other business, not only in Berlin or in Bulgaria, we currently face several problems - finding workers, concluding good deals, developing the business and mutual support," one of the club's founders, Nevena Grundmann, told Radio Bulgaria. She added that the goal of the association, established a few days ago, is to facilitate the exchange of information, cooperation and dialogue between its members.

"For example, we see how everyone is united in the Serbian and Italian communities, while we don't really help each other. And that's where the idea came to me to unite in order to support each other and to develop, although in the past 2 years there seems to be some progress. I have been in Berlin since 2014 and at first we didn't even get together, while now I feel that there is some unity, but I think this is due to our ambassador – Mr. Porozhanov. We have an incredible ambassador!"

Ambassador Grigor Porozhanov

Nevena Grundmann points out that the Bulgarian Embassy has no direct function in the newly established club, but supports it through the Service for Trade and Economic Affairs, headed by Rositsa Ivanova, who is one of the three organizers, along with Nevena Grundmann and Ivan Tihov. The idea for the club emerged a year and a half ago, but more serious work on the project started in April 2025, Nevena Grundmann said and added:

"Everyone has high expectations and this is a great responsibility for us as organizers. But we also expect all participants to get involved with suggestions on how to develop and how to move forward. The next meeting is on December 15 and until then we will contact each one for ideas. We are also thinking of inviting external speakers. But we are still at the very beginning and we hope that all members will help in developing the club. From now on, we are all organizers!"

Nevena Grundmann says that the newly founded club is not a closed system, so in the future every newly arrived Bulgarian with their own business will have the right to join the association. Currently, Bulgarian companies in Berlin from the service sector, a pharmaceutical company, and the restaurant business have joined. The organizers are doing everything necessary for the members of BGBizHub to meet at least once every 3 months.
