The modernized transit gas pipeline between Bulgaria and Turkey was officially inaugurated at an official ceremony in the town of Yambol in the presence of Bulgaria’s Premier Boyko Borissov, Bulgaria’s Minster of Energy Temenuzhka Petkova and her Turkish counterpart Fatih Dönmez. Due to the new gas infrastructure, the transit of natural gas from Bulgaria to Turkey will increase with 1.7 billion cubic meters. We have achieved full gas connectivity between Bulgaria and Turkey thanks to the new gas pipeline, Minister Petkova pointed out. The project is a good example of the future joint development of the regional energy market, Turkey’s Minister of Energy and Natural Resources Fatih Dönmez added. Bulgaria remained partner of Turkey even in the most difficult moment. As a result, we have achieved our purpose to see all important joint projects in the energy field cross Bulgaria, Premier Borissov said.
