Government and Bulgarian Orthodox Church discuss safety measures at Easter

After talking to some of the BOC metropolitans on Wednesday, today Prime Minister Boyko Borisov is to discuss with Patriarch Neophyte the need for stricter safety measures during the upcoming holidays of Palm Sunday and Easter on April 12 and April 19. The government fears that the peak of the Covid-19 epidemic will coincide with the holidays. The way in which the miraculous fire will be brought from Jerusalem is expected also to be discussed with the Patriarch. Every year on the eve of Resurrection, delegation of the Bulgarian Orthodox Church receives the fire in Jerusalem from the Patriarch of Orthodox Christians in the city.
