After leaving the polling station, Bulgaria's President Rumen Radev was asked by a Macedonian journalist whether the new parliament would change Bulgaria's policy towards Skopje.

"Bulgaria's policy does not depend on which government and which parliament will be in power. It depends on having an open and constructive dialogue between Sofia and Skopje, and it should be conducted in one of the two capitals, and not in Brussels, Paris, Berlin, etc. We expect our friends, brothers and the leadership of the Republic of North Macedonia to lift the blockade on their own. This blockade is not ours", the president replied.
"We expect to see a change also in the monuments with their inscriptions, the museums, the public media in order to eradicate the language of hatred once and for all. When our young people meet once the border is open, they should not hate each other," Radev said.
