The quality of the Recovery and Resilience Plan is more important than the speed of payments, said Tsvetan Kyulanov, Head of the European Commission's Representation in Bulgaria.

In his words, the European Commission usually assesses the Member States’ recovery and resilience plans within two months after submission. Following the Commission, the Council approves the document within a period of one month, Tsvetan Kyulanov explained. Bulgaria can receive the first grant under the Recovery and Resilience Plan to the tune of 13% of the expected EUR 6 billion at the beginning of 2022 at the earliest, Tsvetan Kyulanov added.

The head of the European Commission’s Representation in Bulgaria refused to comment on the substance of the document because the European Commission has not yet become acquainted with it.
