A private medical center in the town of Rakovski has issued 200 counterfeit green certificates to Bulgarians who were abroad at the time of the alleged inoculation against Covid-19. The certificates have been issued in the course of 2 months.

Another 50 people received counerfeit green certificates from the municipal hospital in Asenovgrad under the same scheme. The investigation followed a report of the health authorities in Plovdiv.

"Three doctors and a dentist have been detained", Plovdiv District Prosecutor Chavdar Groshev said. The counterfeit green certificates were sold for EUR 100 to EUR 200 and were issued with the help of intermediaries. The Economic Police has seized more than 20,000 consent forms for Covid-19 vaccination. "We are to check each consent form thoroughly in order to reveal the scale of the scheme", Prosecutor Groshev explained.
