Illegal weapons, ammunition confiscated at Lesovo border crossing

Customs officials at the Lesovo border checkpoint between Bulgaria and Turkey have found a pistol without inscriptions and without a serial number and 106 cartridges, the press center of the Customs Agency reported. The illegal weapon was carried in a handbag by a Bulgarian woman arriving from Turkey, travelling in a car driven by a man. The driver claimed that the weapon and ammunition belonged to him. 102 packs of smuggled cigarettes were also found in the car.

Weapons and ammunition were seized. Pre-trial proceedings have been initiated in the case.
