Bulgarian arrested for terrorist attack plot in Belgium

A Bulgarian citizen (Sergei R.) was detained for planning a terrorist attack in Belgium, local media reported referring to a statement by the Federal Prosecutor's Office. Belgian police carried out raids in Brussels and Antwerp against young radicalised jihadists. Five Belgian nationals and a Turkish citizen were also arrested. 

The detainees are charged with taking part in the activities of a terrorist group. According to the media, the detainees are linked to jihadists from the Islamic State, which claimed responsibility for the attacks in Brussels on March 22, 2016. The prosecutor's office did provide detail about the potential targets of the alleged terrorists.
