The project “Pseudonature” of Bulgarian architect Yasen Markov will represent Bulgaria at the Venice Architecture Biennale 2025. The project has collected 61 out of 70 points, said architect Vladimir Milkov, chairman of the jury.

The 19th edition of the Venice Architecture Biennale will be held from May 10 to November 23 with the theme: “Intelligens: Natural. Artificial. Collective”.

Yasen Markov has a degree in architecture and urban planning earned in Stuttgart.

“Pseudonature” deals with the topic of climate change and human intervention in complex natural processes. Not without a sense of humor, a snow machine covers solar panels and stops them operating, as a metaphor for people’s inability to cope with the climate crisis. The use of technologies that seem to be part of the solution further complicates the situation,” the jury’s arguments state.
