Acting Prosecutor General Borislav Sarafov requested lifting the immunities of MPs Bozhidar Bozhanov and Kiril Petkov from “We Continue the Change – Democratic Bulgaria”. A day earlier, he took the same action against four MPs from “Vazrazhdane”.
The prosecutor’s request states that Bozhanov, in his capacity as Minister of e-Government, violated his official duties in 2022 by providing the Director of the Executive Agency “e-Government Infrastructure” with a flash drive file with technical specifications and instructed him that it must be used to conduct a public procurement for about 9 million euro.
When it comes to Petkov, it is alleged that there is evidence incriminating him in an attempt to coerce the Minister of e-Government, Alexander Yolovski, in 2023. The co-chair of the PP-DB and former prime minister described the action as "another batch of false accusations through a taken-over prosecutor's office."
