Photo: library

The European Parliament voted in favor of an increase in the EU funds for Bulgaria. The MEPs approved new financial rules for the 2021-2027 period. Thus, Bulgaria is expected to receive nearly EUR 9 billion in the next programming period, or EUR 1.5 billion more as compared to the current period. The increase of the EU funds for Bulgaria means that our country will invest actively in road infrastructure, high-speed railway lines, ports, airports, etc, Bulgaria’s MEP from the European People’s Party Andrey Novakov commented. The decision is not final. The European Parliament will begin negotiations on this topic with the European Council next week.
