A large group of illegal migrants have been detained by police near the village of German close to Sofia. According to BNR, more than 40 people from Syria and Afghanistan were detained. About 35 migrants from Syria were initially found. They were located in a forest close to the village, near a former military base in the area. A search of the area with dogs later found several more illegal migrants from Afghanistan.

At the moment it is not clear where and how the foreigners entered the territory of Bulgaria and reached Sofia. Upon completion of the investigation, foreign nationals are likely to be accommodated in one of the country's refugee centers.
