“If we give in to North Macedonia now, tomorrow we are going to have problems. We have a shared history, up until 1944,” Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Defence Krasimir Karakachanov said in an interview for bTV.

“The framework position from 2019 upholds Bulgaria’s national interest very clearly. It is supported by all parties and there is no way it can be changed. During my recent meetings in Washington I explained clearly Bulgaria’s position with sources released in USA,” Minister Karakachanov said. “We want Skopje to stop falsifying Bulgarian history and fostering anti-Bulgarian sentiments via the media and education which is un-European.”
