The President of North Macedonia, Stevo Pendarovski, has described the joint celebration of the anniversary of Gotse Delchev's birth as an act of goodwill.
According to President Pendarovski, the statements of the Bulgarian Prime Minister Kiril Petkov can be compared to the rhetoric of Nelson Mandela at the backdrop of the "harmful" statements that used to come from ministers of the cabinet of former Bulgarian Prime Minister Boyko Borissov, BNR Horizont reported.
Earlier, Prime Minister Kiril Petkov wrote on the government's Facebook profile: "Bulgarian revolutionary Gotse Delchev is an integral part of our common history with the people of North Macedonia. He is one of the personalities who make both of the nations proud.”
Answering a journalist's question about whether Bulgarians will be included in the constitution of North Macedonia, Pendarovski said: "Bulgarians in North Macedonia are also our citizens. If we decide it is good to include them in the constitution, we will include them, but it will be a decision of the Macedonian institutions", BTA reported.
