Farmers and greenhouse growers to protest in Sofia

Farmers and greenhouse growers are expected to protest in Sofia today. Their rally will begin at 11am in front of the Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Forestry and will end in front of the Council of Ministers building, the Chairman of the National Union of Cattle Breeders in Bulgaria Dimitar Zorov said at a press conference entitled: "Let's oppose the destruction of our dairy farming and greenhouse vegetable growing". 

The protesters demand the resignation of Agriculture Minister Kiril Vatev, who, according to them, does not protect the interests of farmers. In their words, the state does not provide enough financial support and the Bulgarian livestock industry is perishing. "The Minister of Agriculture called us greedy. We are not greedy, we are working people", the Chairman of United Bulgarian Livestock Farmers Association Boyko Sinapov said for bTV.
